Ekaterinburg is the capital of the Urals, the third largest city in Russia and administrative center of Sverdlovsk region. Ekaterinburg is the capital of the Ural Federal district, the territory of which is about 2 million km2. The territory has the main oil and gas field, rich reserves of iron and polymetallic ores. Due to the industrial and intellectual potential, the world's largest metallurgical enterprises are located in the Urals. Ekaterinburg exports raw materials and products of heavy machinery and imports food and consumer goods. Business and investment are developed too.

Famous alumnus of the Ural State Mining University

Among the graduates of the Ural State Mining University there are prominent politicians, famous industrialists, business leaders, active public figures. Graduates of the Ural State Mining University work all around the world. They manage key positions not only in the major mining companies, but also making progress in administrative work. A graduate of the Ural State Mining University was the first governor of the Sverdlovsk region Mr. Rossel. Only ten years after Denis Pasler was required to become chairman of the Government of the Sverdlovsk region, who was also graduated from Ural State Mining University. At the moment he is the acting governor of the Orenburg region in Russian Federation. Mr. Basargin, a graduate from Ural State Mining University, was as Minister of Regional Development of Russia, Governor of the Perm Territory, and now he is a Head at the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Transport.

The Ural State Mining University is proud of its alumnus who glorify the university with high merit to the Motherland in the field of science, industry, production, Sports and art.

Accommodation

We offer 2 options staying at dormitory:

1) A separate unit in the main building of the student dormitory, where students have: a comfortable room for 3 people with refrigerator and free wi-fi access. There is a separate bathroom (toilets, sinks, showers) for women and a separate bathroom (toilets, sinks, showers) for men. The block has a gym, an equipped class with desks and chairs, a centralized kitchen with cooking stoves, sinks and tables. Cleaning is supervised by cleaning company.

2) Dormitory block type: 4 people live in the room. In the residential unit there are combined bathrooms (toilets, shower), sinks, centralized kitchen with cooking stoves, sinks and tables. Cleaning is supervised by students.

Sport activities
The university has 14 sections in various Sports: hockey, chess, basketball, volleyball, boxing, table tennis, martial arts. The Sport Hall is equipped with the most modern equipment, and the large Sports hall meets the standards for international competitions. For fans of the open-air workout, a separate area is equipped with exercise equipment for training, as well as a multifunctional platform for playing football, volleyball and basketball in the warmer months and hockey in winter. The university has a shooting range with two frontiers - 25 and 50 meters.

Cultural activities

In the Student Cultural Center of the university creative life is in full swing - at least one hundred events take place here every year. Students can prove themselves at the amateur art shows of faculties, festivals, concerts of vocal and dance groups, the contest “Miss and Mr. Mining University”. The SCC occupies almost a whole floor of the academic building, where there are several auditoriums, a recording studio, a make-up room and a wardrobe room for rehearsals. The main hall has the best professional equipment and a large LED screen, while the spacious auditorium houses almost 800 guests.

Creative workshops at University: pop-jazz, choreography, choral. Classes are free, training is conducted by professional musicians, dancers and vocalists.

Russian language course for foreign citizens

At the Ural State Mining University you can get high-quality and complete knowledge of the Russian language: speaking practice on the subject of everyday life, pronunciation, mastering the basic grammar of the Russian language, intensive listening, speaking and writing skills. A feature of our course is the study of the basis of linguistic studies, immersion of listeners in the world of classical Russian literature and the modern Russian language of the media.

Training of students takes place in comfortable computer classes with multimedia equipment. Teachers of our University have extensive experience in teaching "Russian as a foreign language".

Aim of the program:

  • the formation of linguistic competence;
  • formation of communicatively-speech competence in reading, listening, writing, speaking;
  • language training in the chosen specialty profile;
  • adaptation of foreign citizens in the new socio-linguistic and cultural environment, familiarity with national customs, traditions and way of life of the country the language is spoken.

The students receive basic knowledge for successful communication in the social and educational sphere, in the Russian grammar, scientific style of speech (in accordance with the chosen specialty). The general course program for foreign citizens is aimed at developing students with all basic language skills: speaking and writing, reading and listening (listening to the ear).

Upon graduation, foreign citizens receive a certificate.

1. Passport, if necessary, its notarized translation into Russian.

2. Personal details form.

3. Diploma of the previous education. А document that confirmed the required level of education and an application with grades, legalized in accordance with the law in the host country, with a notarized translation into Russian.

4. Medical certificate.

5. Confirmation from the bank about the availability of funds on the account.

*To stay in the territory of the Russian Federation for the purpose of studying at the university, a foreign citizen must provide for the costs of registration of the VHI policy (health insurance), visa extension, registration certificate of recognition of education certificates.
